Automation

Home automation is the automated or remote control of appliances and equipment in the home. Automated controls can be used to turn equipment on or off or adjust the operating settings at pre-determined times, on-site or remotely, or can be set to adjust the operation of equipment in response to changes in the home. Home Automation gives you complete control over every aspect of your home – and often increases the resale value by more than 10%!

Convenience is undoubtedly the major benefit of home automation. A good control system should offer simple ease of use. A number of convenient scenarios can be created, for example on entering your home a simple series of programmed commands can ensure your way is lit as you move from room to room. A “bedtime” program could switch off all but your security lights and arm your alarm system. Scenes to monitor and control underfloor heating and air conditioning can be effortlessly programmed. The systems scheduler can be set to control irrigation systems, pool pumps and motorized blinds, etc. Intuitive Home Theater and Music Distribution Control throughout the home can be done with a single remote control or via touch screens. Devices can be programmed to switch on when you enter the room together with the lights and turn off when the room is unoccupied. Home Automation also offers incredible energy efficiency benefits. Home automation can save energy by reducing the time that equipment operates, length of time devices operate, where in the home certain elements operate, or by reducing the need to use equipment (ex. by only switching on lights when they are needed).

Electronic Equiments and Appliances

Use controls to operate appliances and equipment only when they are needed. Remote control and timer control of appliances, from coffee makers to home theaters to spas, can lead to energy savings if the appliances can be switched off when not required. This also allows for conveniently pre-set times to enable coffee machines, stove-tops, and other devices in the home.

Using automation system makes it possible for virtually everything in your home to work together—from TVs to receivers, DVD players, stereos, speakers, even security systems, garage doors, pools and much more—your ideas of control can be as unique as you are. Create the perfect movie ambiance in one touch. Tell your thermostat what to do from overseas. Manage music in multiple rooms. Get a text when your teenager comes home. Home Automation gives you flexible solutions to design the system of your dreams on a very real budget.

At Kamran Home Theater, we employ different techniques in building automation as well as the control of domestic activities, such as home entertainment systems, houseplant and yard watering, pet feeding, changing the ambiance “scenes” for different events such as dinners or parties. Devices may be connected through a computer network to allow control by a personal computer, and may allow remote access from the internet. Through the integration of information technologies with the home environment, home theater, appliances, lights, security and A/C systems are able to communicate in an integrated manner which results in convenience, energy efficiency, and safety benefits.

Lighting

A Lutron RadioRA Home Dimming System provides wireless, radio frequency control of the light in and around your home. RadioRa gives you convenient, one-touch control of all your home lighting. Lights can be turned on and off from anywhere, including your car! Touch the Car Visor Control’s “Home” button as you’re approaching your house to turn on interior and exterior lights, safely lighting a path into and through your home.

You could personalize settings for multiple lights, allowing you to completely tailor the lighting scheme in any room. Selecting a scene is as simple as pressing a single button. The system can also be programmed to transition between scenes at different times of the day. Preset lighting can have other benefits aside from ambiance and energy savings. Lighting can be set to increase your space’s security and safety. Advanced systems Lighting Systems can work in conjunction with a security system to switch on all lights if an intruder enters a home, simultaneously warning the trespasser and ensuring that law enforcement will know exactly where they are needed. With such precise and powerful control, you can completely craft the look and feel for any space, as well as its functionality and efficiency.

True light control reaches further than shading and dimmers. Lutron light management systems and equipment can make lighting a vibrant and vital part of any space. Daylight sensors, for example, can automatically adjust shades and overhead lights to maintain the perfect look throughout the day, while occupancy sensors can ensure that lights are never left on when a room is not in use.

Heating Air Conditioning

We can help to design or re-design your home to make the best use of solar energy and natural ventilation for passive heating and cooling – these systems can work in conjunction with home automation. By using temperature sensors in different rooms to control heating and cooling home automation systems can direct air conditioning or heating to only those areas – or activate ceiling fans. Appropriate placement of temperature sensors and the use of heating/AC timers can significantly reduce energy use, especially when automated systems are used.

Internet-controlled thermostats are one type of home automation device. Home automation systems increase the efficiency of managing various home electronics. For example, using a home automation system you can configure lights in a room to switch on automatically whenever a person enters, or you may set the home oven and coffee maker to run at certain times of day based on your meal schedule. Programmable building thermostats offer similar convenience as other types of home automation devices. Based on time of day, you can pre-set these devices to maintain certain temperatures while the house is occupied and other (more extreme) temperatures when unoccupied to save energy. Most modern thermostats support this level of programming through a keypad on the front of the unit with no network interface required.
